Introduction
BUET-JIDPUS started its Post Graduate program in 2023 with degrees in Disaster Risk Reduction Science and Engineering and the following post graduate degrees are currently being offered:
Postgraduate Diploma (PG Dip.)
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D)
Admission Requirements:
For admission into the safety management program the applicant-
- Must have a Bachelor’s or Diploma degree.
- Must have minimum work experience of three (3) years in the professional field.
Online Application:
Advertisement regarding admission to new semester will be published on newspapers before each semester. Application form can be found from the academic section of the website of BUET-JIDPUS (https://jidpus.buet.ac.bd). The application form must be submitted to safety.management2018@gmail.com within the deadline mentioned in the advertisement.
Selection Process:
The selection procedure will take place in two steps. First the online applications will be screened on the basis of the applicant’s qualifications. Then the short-listed candidates will be called for an intake discussion. After the intake discussion the finalized candidates will be selected.

Training:
The institute aims to conduct training and short courses to build the capacity of target groups for effective disaster management and ensuring urban safety. For the last few years, regular trainings have been some of the major academic activities of BUET-JIDPUS. Trainings have been offered on topics ranging from Earthquake resistant design of structures; Advanced, Cost- Effective and Climate Resilient Bridge Structures; Structural, Geotechnical and Earthquake Engineering Field Investigation Technologies to software applications (ArcGIS, Programming, SAP2000, ETABS, Plaxis 2D & 3D etc.) in disaster technology and urban safety.
