The institution is now in its initial stage. It is preparing to start activities soon in full phase after completion of building facilities and installation of testing equipment. Broadly research works will focus on hazard assessment, risk reduction, disaster management and urban safety of Bangladesh. Through education and research, training and knowledge dissemination, local agencies, practitioners, professionals and stakeholders involved in this field will be benefited. The institute aims to conduct training and short courses to buildup capacity of target groups for effective disaster management and ensuring urban safety. The institute also plans to offer post graduate education in the form of masters and post graduate diploma (PGD) in the field of disaster management.
Training Course on “Fundamentals of Earthquake Resistant Building Design”
