BUET-JIDPUS acts as a national reference center for teaching, learning, research, and awareness development in the field of disaster risk reduction and urban safety assurance. To realize the Institute’s goals, it is important to nourish cooperation and enhance interactions between national and international stakeholders and academia. As we prepare for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the safety of physical spaces must be ensured to guarantee the sustainability of online platforms. This can be achieved through disaster resilience.

To harness this essence of its collaborative efforts, BUET-JIDPUS will organize the two-day symposium "International Symposium on Disaster Risk Reduction: Towards a Disaster Resilient Bangladesh Through Integrated Cooperation. The symposium will take place on October 12-13, 2021, via the online platform Zoom.

In addition to professors from BUET, international scholars will participate in the symposium. Representatives of the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources; Dhaka Mass Transit Company, Limited; Bangladesh Railway; Bangladesh Meteorological Department; RAJUK; and the United Nations Development Programme are also expected to participate.
